Magnetic Wall Sector

Offers some of the most amazing, technical climbing in the mid grades on The Ledge. The view and exposure are added benefits!

The sector gets the afternoon sun and is more exposed to wind than other areas. On calm summer afternoons nothing can beat squeezing in another route on this wall, in the final glow of the setting sun.

Approach: Most routes start at the base of the more compact rock at the level of the start of the climbing proper on Arrow Final.

Descent: From the ledge, underneath overhangs, which runs around the front
there are two options:-

1. Continue up to the Top Cable Station and car down or walk down.
   Use the last section of Arrow Final which is around the left: Start just next to the large block. Once on top of this, take the line of least resistance up
   and right of the Cableway Station. (Beware of cablecars and avoid the guiding booms at the top station - they move!)
2. Two abseils take you down to Fountain Ledge: The first abseil station is on the corner between Arrow Final and Magnetic Wall. Step down to a lower foot ledge. 45 meters lower is a ledge with a tree on the left. The anchors are under the tree. A 50m abseil over fairly stepped and bushy terrain brings you to a small ledge a metre above the ground.
