KZN has a dry Winter season with a wet Summer season. Winter is pleasantly warm during the day, the sun will be out however a light jacket my be needed for a crisp breeze, temperatures will drop from the early afternoon into the night. Summer while warm and humid, sees it's most rain - make sure to have a waterproof jacket packed if you are planning a hike and to be cautious of the lightning if hiking high up seek shelter.

Many of the nearby areas like Howick, Hilton and Mooi river have food shops. Gear shops are limited in this area it would be advised to gear up before hand.
