Routes described in this sector from the Ruminating Crag Chimney rightward to the Arrow Face edge. The sector includes the Upper Africa Ledge section although for routes which only focus on the upper section, there are specific sectors.
Approach: Gain Africa Ledge from the top of the India-Venster Route.
Descent: Unless otherwise stated in the individual route descriptions, use the Africa Corner abseils
Make your way to the top abseil anchors on a short overhanging wall. Stretch to reach them. 45m lower down there is a ledge (below the level of the Africa Corner crux). The anhors are slightly to the right and take you onto the right-hand side of Upper Africa Ledge. Out and left (facing out) from your touch down there are the next anchors. These are just over the edge, in a V-slot, below a boulder and take you down 25m to the Oddshouter's Outing teaspot on Africa Ledge.
Unless otherwise stated in the individual route descriptions use the Africa Corner abseils described below.
The Africa Corner Abseil offers fast, easy descent to Upper Africa Ledge in 2 40+m abseils, or Africa Ledge with a third abseil. When looking at the upper cable station, the Africa Corner Abseil is located some 20m left and 25m down from the Upper Cable Station (looking at the cable station).
on the Southern (Left) side of the Upper Cable Station is a maintenance walk-way running along the building, blocked by a waist high gate with a no entry sign
The anchors can be reached by lying on top of the flat rock and reaching over the lip, or scrambling down the right hand side (looking OUT) and then squeezing between a boulder and the wall on your left. This section is EXPOSED! so be cautious.
